My work is a reflection of humanity.
Using my own observations and experiences, I portray in my prints, drawings, paintings and sculpture, many facets of human emotions. These include loneliness, anger, suffering, passion and the desire for salvation. The human figure is therefore the central subject of all my compositions. However, I do incorporate physical backgrounds such as landscape, townscape and interiors, which help to create appropriate moods in my art work. I admit to being greatly influenced by Romantic artists of the 19th century. In my work I try to capture a moment in time, a brief glimpse into an aspect of the human condition. Above all, I attempt to be empathetic, not clinical, in my interpretations.
