"What captures my attention is not only how things in the world look, but the meanings that seem to attach to them. Such meaning may be transient and fugitive, or abiding and apparent to many people. For me, nearly everything I see seems invested in intense, many layered significance. The attempt to locate myself in this almost overwhelming, multi-faceted visual world is the focus of my painting and printmaking, and my work may take the form of landscape, figures, interiors or portraits Needless to say, the love of paint and ink, canvas and paper, and the process itself, keeps me hooked."
