Christianity is the religion based on the teachings and beliefs of Jesus, also known as Messiah or Christ. The Religion has its roots in Jerusalem, which is now the modern Israel. Christians believed that Jesus was the chosen God’s messenger. Let’s discuss some things that Christians believe in:
God created all that is seen and unseen
Followers of Christianity believe that God is the creator of the world, the universe, and the people. This truth is based on different Bible passages, which includes the first chapter of the Bible of Genesis.
Jesus is the son and messenger of the god
They also believe that Christ is the Son of God, and he is one with the God. They believe that Jesus was sent here for redeeming the people. John, the apostle, says,” I and the father are one” in John 10:30.
Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary
The followers of Christianity believe that Jesus was created by the Holy Spirit of God and came to this earth through Virgin Mary. It was explained in Matthew 1:18, “This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.”
Jesus was crucified
Jesus was falsely accused of being an anti-government rebel and was executed. Christians believe that Jesus suffered and died for our sins. It was explained in Matthew 27:23-56, Jesus was brought to Pontius Pilate to be executed. There he was mocked, thrashed, and crucified by the Romans.
Jesus died and was buried
After being crucified, Jesus died on the cross. Jesus was buried in a tomb which was owned by a rich man named Joseph, a follower of Jesus. As explained in Matthew 27:57-60, “As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.”
The Resurrection
Jesus was resurrected, which means that Jesus died and came back to life again. The Resurrection is referred in various parts of the bible testaments. All people who die before the judgment day will be resurrected and brought back to life again. The people who believe in Christ will be resurrected to live eternal life in heaven.
